tie the yarn around the wrist or tuck under watch strap leaving long tail.
take the yarn around the middle finger and back the way it came, without crossing it over.
then take the yarn around the back of the wrist
take the yarn around the middle finger and back the way it came.
go around the back of the wrist again.
you are now back at the first side of the wrist and repeat the above until all the yarn is wound onto your hand.
Once you have wound all the yarn onto your hand, slide it up towards the heel of the hand, without taking the fingers out. Take care not to lose the ends. then slip the middle finger out of the yarn loop but leave your hand through the yarn to prevent it from tangling.
Tie both ends of the yarn onto a bobbin on the spinning wheel or around the shaft of a handspindle. Now ply, pulling out the yarn gently from your hand as you go.
